Can a Classic Jeep Wrangler Out-Perform a New One?

This 1995 Jeep Wrangler has been slightly modified, with a lifted suspension and massive wheels. It was the top of the line at the time it was built. It looks mean and ready to take on the trails.

Can this low-tech classic take on the brand new 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited?

Simply put, no. It can't.

Though the Wrangler is lighter and more maneuverable than the Wrangler Unlimited, and has larger wheels, it simply lacks those 20 years of advancement.

The modern Wrangler has a more powerful engine, and better gas mileage. It has computer-controlled automatic traction control. It has a disconnecting front sway bar, and better coil spring suspension.

It's better at off-roading, and it has more creature comforts, like heated seats and AC.
