We want you to be the first to know of the recent announcement made by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and Google. The automaker and the tech-giant announced this month that they will more than double the size of Google's self-driving test fleet with 100 autonomous Chrysler Pacifica hybrid prototypes.

"The Pacificas will have custom modifications made by FCA, which will then be handed over to Google to have autonomous hardware and software fitted," reports the staff at The Verge. "(This is a level beyond the Lexus RX, which Google retrofitted without a manufacturing partnership with Lexus or Toyota.) The companies will be co-staffing a facility in Michigan, near FCA's US headquarters, to engineer the vehicles."

What do you think about the idea of a Pacifica chauffeuring you around, rather than being the one to operate the vehicle? If you prefer to be the one in control, we have the latest 2017 Chrysler Pacifica available for a test drive at your convenience. To schedule one, call our team at 877-483-2960.
