At Action Auto, we know that drivers here in Sidney, Montana want to learn more about upcoming auto technology, to get a glimpse into what the future holds. Today we have some exciting news about a new Chrysler powerplant called the Hurricane.
The Hurricane won't make it to Chrysler models until 2016, auto insiders have already been discussing the importance of this new engine. This engine is based off of the existing Chrysler 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder Tigershark engine, it should help increase fuel efficiency while producing a significant amount of power out on the open road.
The current Tigershark engine is used for the Dodge Dart, an advanced version of the Tigershark is also featured in the all-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The Cherokee also has electrohydraulic valve timing that allows this vehicle to achieve 184 horsepower and 171-lb. ft. of torque.
No information has been released on what new Chrysler models will use the new Hurricane engine. We think the Chrysler 100 might features this engine, this hatchback is similar to the Dart and we can't wait to see it. It's expected to make its way to Action Auto sometime in 2016.
