As one would expect before a big event such as the Geneva Motor Show (begins on the 6th, we here at Action Auto have the scoop on what to keep an eye on, and this year, that special vehicle is the baby Jeep model.
The baby Jeep model is reportedly named the Renegade, a nameplate which was used for a Jeep brand concept bar at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show. Its smaller figure is charming, we'll admit, but don't be fooled by its size; it sports the same exterior as the Jeep Cherokee (Trailhawk trim), and the leaked photos show it travelling through dirt and sand. This baby Jeep model was made for the great outdoors.
Other reports mention that this model is based on the Fiat 500L. While we're sure there are traces of Fiat 500L DNA in there, we couldn't help but notice that it looked more like it was based on the Fiat Panda.
As for what will power this peppy crossover, word has it that it will carry either a 1.4-liter turbocharged engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission or a 2.4-liter four-cylinder linked with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
More information will be released as the Geneva Motor Show approaches.
